Editorial criteria

Spelling has been modernised, as well as the accentuation and punctuation, generally replacing them with [.] [;] [,]. Some redundant [,] have been eliminated, in other places they have been introduced to separate sentences. Capitalisation has been adjusted to the current usage. El Diestro, el Maestro, el Autor, are written with a capital letter when they refer to a specific actor.<\/p>\n

Some cultisms resolved with consonant groups (assumpto, demonstraci\u00f3n, demonstrar, dubda, respeto (for respect), obmitir, perfectiona, presumpci\u00f3n, prompta, reflecti\u00f3n, subcesivos, subjecci\u00f3n, subtentar, tractan, etc.) have been replaced by their current form.<\/p>\n

Old-fashioned forms have been replaced by their current equivalent (excusar for escusar, comprensi\u00f3n for comprehensi\u00f3n, disminuci\u00f3n for diminuci\u00f3n). Unused forms such as cor\u00f3nica, diciplina, dotrina, efeto, perfeto, pratico, have been modernized, although other unused or little-used morphological forms present in current dictionaries and repertories are maintained (with footnotes). Errata and textual variants are indicated with notes at the end.<\/p>\n

Editorial additions have been represented in brackets. In the case of passages quoted from other works, they are completed according to the original. In other cases, they are indicated in a footnote.<\/p>\n

The position of the clitics is maintained, although it may be outdated. The clitics that appear separated have been incorporated into the verbal form according to current usage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Abbreviations and contractions have been resolved. Additions to the original text and corrections have been included in the text in their proper place, crossed-out parts (where they can be read) have been included in endnotes.
\nThe division of lines or words has not been preserved. When a word appears divided between two pages, it has been included in full on the previous page. In the preliminaries, the numbering has been indicated with typographical signs from the original when it has them, or otherwise with Roman numerals. In the text, the numbering of the folios is indicated following the original copy. Errors in foliation are corrected by referring to the endnotes in the original.<\/p>\n

The names of authors cited in the text have been adapted according to the current authority indexes in their Spanish version.
\nAn attempt has been made to compare the citations to classical authors.<\/p>\n

The lack of references and the vagueness of some of them has made it impossible for us to locate them, possibly many of them come from repertoires or collections that were so in use at the time. If there are contemporary Spanish translations, they have been incorporated into the citation in a footnote; in other cases, the Latin text is included, even in Greek works if there is a contemporary translation.<\/p>\n

The toponyms are kept in their original form, except for some very well-established forms in Spanish. An attempt has been made to identify them and they are included in a footnote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
